Editor's Note: Article 49 at the 1932 Annual Town Meeting accepted MGL c. 114, §§ 22 through 27, which called for the election of a three-member Cemetery Commission to have care of all Town cemeteries and the administration of the same.

Members of the Cemetery Committee shall be appointed by the Select Board. Members of this Committee shall be appointed to serve for one-year terms.[2]

Editor's Note: Chapter 272 of the Laws of 2000 provided as follows: "Notwithstanding Section 22 of Chapter 114 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Board of Cemetery Commissioners of the Town of Dennis shall consist of five persons."

Editor's Note: Said term was originally three years as an elected position. As an appointed position, however, such was changed pursuant to a decision by the Board of Selectmen (now Select Board).
Election upon the official ballot shall become effective commencing with the Annual Election of 1954 and shall not affect the present incumbents of the Cemetery Committee or their term or terms of office until such term or terms shall have expired.
