Every building on a public or private way within the Town of Dennis shall be provided by the owner and/or occupant with clear and legible street numbers placed in such manner as to be clearly visible from such ways.
The town shall determine the street numbers to be assigned to all buildings located on public or private ways.
A. 
All street numbers shall be affixed to or be displayed in a prominent position on the street side of the buildings within one (1) year of the effective date of this bylaw.
B. 
This bylaw will become effective when:
(1) 
Duly approved:
(2) 
The numbering system is established; and
(3) 
Notice has been placed into a local newspaper once in each of two (2) successive weeks indicating a description of the bylaw and that numbers are available at the Town Office.
C. 
All new buildings erected or located in this town must have street numbers affixed within six (6) months of the date of occupancy.
Any person who willfully fails to comply with the provisions of this bylaw or who unlawfully removes, defaces or changes a number affixed to a building under this bylaw shall be punished by a fine of not more than twenty dollars ($20.) for each offense.
