The office of Zoning Officer of the Borough of Chester is hereby confirmed.
A. 
Appointments to the office of the Zoning Officer shall be made by the Mayor with the consent of the Council.
B. 
The Zoning Officer shall serve at the pleasure of the Borough Mayor and Council, or such other specified term as may be set by the Mayor and Council at the time of appointment.
C. 
The Mayor and Council may from time to time appoint deputies to the Zoning Officer, to serve for a period of time specified at the time of appointment, and who shall assist the Zoning Officer in the performance of duties, or act in the capacity of the Zoning Officer, in the absence of said Zoning Officer.
The Zoning Officer, as well as any deputy or deputies appointed from time to time, shall perform all duties required of the position by the Land Use Laws of the Borough of Chester and State of New Jersey.
The Zoning Officer, and such deputy or deputies as may be appointed from time to time, shall receive such compensation as is limited by the salary ordinance and set by resolution, as both may be amended from time to time.[1]
