There is hereby created the position of Independent Auditor
for the Borough of Ridley Park, which position shall be occupied by
a certified public accountant or a firm of certified public accountants
duly registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or a competent
public accountant or a competent firm of public accountants.
The duties and powers of the Independent Auditor shall consist
of those duties and powers as enumerated in the Borough Code for the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as amended.[1]

An Independent Auditor shall be appointed annually by resolution
of the Borough Council, such appointment to occur before the close
of the fiscal year for which such appointment has been made, and the
Independent Auditor shall make an independent examination of the accounting
records of the Borough for said fiscal year.
In the event that at the time of the appointment of an Independent
Auditor there is then existing the office of elected Borough Auditors
or Controller, such office is hereby abolished, although the elected
Borough Auditors or Controller then in office shall continue to hold
office during the term for which elected, but said elected Borough
Auditors or Controller shall not audit, settle or adjust the accounts
to be audited by the Independent Auditor but shall perform such other
duties of the office as may exist.
Salary for the Independent Auditor shall be as determined by
a majority of Council members present at a duly constituted and authorized
meeting of the Borough Council,
