The purpose of this article is to protect the public health,
safety and welfare by establishing school safety zones in designated
areas within 1,000 feet of the real property of all public, private
or parochial schools of the Borough of Ridley Park pursuant to Act
31 of 1988 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.[1]

A.
The Borough of Ridley Park authorizes the necessary surveys, maps
and photographs as may be necessary for the determination of the boundary
of each school safety zone at each school building.
B.
The Borough of Ridley Park authorizes the provision to the District
Attorney of Delaware County, the Police Department of Ridley Park
and the Juvenile Court authorities of the County of Delaware copies
of such surveys, maps and photographs showing or depicting the area
around each school building which has been designated as a school
safety zone. Maps, surveys and photographs are to be provided by appropriate
school authorities.
The Borough of Ridley Park authorizes the installation of appropriate
signs designating school safety zones by public, private or parochial
school authorities.
The Borough of Ridley Park authorizes penalties as provided
by Act 31 of 1988 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.[1] This Act creates additional penalties and a minimum two-year
prison term for persons over 18 years of age convicted of a violation
of Section 13(a)(14) or (30) of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device
and Cosmetic Act[2] where the delivery or possession with the intent to deliver
such controlled substances to a minor is within such school safety
zone.
