It is hereby ordained that each Township Commissioner of the Township of South Fayette taking office on or after January 1, 1980, be paid a salary of $1,500 per year, payable monthly, for the performance by said Commissioners of the duties and obligations as a Township Commissioner imposed by the First Class Township Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.[1]

As referred to in the recitals to this article,[1] the population of the Township of South Fayette, by reference to data and statistics available to the Board of Commissioners thereof, is deemed to be in excess of 10,000 persons.

It is ordained and enacted, in the alternative, that should the population of the Township of South Fayette, by appropriate data and investigation, be determined to be less than 10,000 persons, then it is ordained and enacted that the salary of the Township Commissioners of the Township of South Fayette taking office on or after January 1, 1980, be set at $1,200 per year, payable monthly for their performance of duties as a Township Commissioner. This section is to be applied only in the alternative and under circumstances which indicate that the population of the Township of South Fayette is not sufficient to warrant the salary of $1,500 per year as referred to in § 74-1 above.

The annual compensation of the Treasurer/Tax Collector for all duties as addressed by the First Class Township Code[1] and all other relevant statues shall be $10,000.

The costs of actual printing and postage expenses incurred by the Treasurer as collector of township taxes shall be paid by the township if such expenses are reasonable and have been authorized by the township prior to being incurred by the Treasurer.
Certain expenses described in § 74-5 of this article may from time to time be incurred by the township directly.
