The office of the Township Health Officer is hereby created by the Township of Swatara, said Health Officer to be appointed by a majority of the members of the Board of Commissioners of Swatara Township, to serve at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners and to be removed at any time by a majority vote of all its members.
The Health Officer appointed pursuant to § 40-1 of this chapter shall have all such powers and duties, including those normally exercised by Board of Health, as are by law provided. The Health Officer shall have all such other powers relating to the abatement of nuisances prejudicial to the public health and the enforcement of remedies and the infliction of penalties in connection therewith as are by law vested in the Board of Commissioners of Swatara Township.
