The Engineer shall be responsible for the supervision, direction and control of all engineering matters in the Township. He shall be appointed by the Manager and must be registered as a professional engineer by the Pennsylvania State Board for Professional Engineers. He must have a B.S. degree with work in engineering and three years of public work and/or municipal engineering experience.
The duties of the Township Engineer shall be to:
A. 
Advise the Board and Manager on all matters pertaining to engineering.
B. 
Prepare all plans, specifications and bidding schedules for all construction, maintenance and repair of highways, sewers and other construction projects.
C. 
Serve as project engineer on Township construction and maintenance projects, and be in charge of all surveys.
D. 
Review all subdivision, highway, sewer and traffic proposals and approve highway occupancy and grading permits.
E. 
Develop and recommend both short-range and long-range capital improvement programs, including appropriate budget proposals.[1]
