No person shall ride a bicycle upon any sidewalk in the Borough of Doylestown.

No person shall ride a bicycle in any street, alley or public place in the Borough of Doylestown unless there shall be attached thereto a bell or other device capable of giving a signal audible for at least 100 feet, which shall be sounded when necessary to give warning to any pedestrian likely to be affected by the movement of such bicycle. Provided: no bicycle shall be equipped with, nor shall any person use upon a bicycle, any siren or whistle.

No person shall ride a bicycle upon any of the streets, alleys or public places in the Borough of Doylestown, with both hands off the handlebars, or without having his or her feet on the pedals.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Part 1 shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $300; and/or to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 90 days.

As used in this Part, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SKATEBOARD
A single platform which is mounted on wheels, having no mechanism or other device with which to steer or control the direction of movement and brake thereof while being used, operated or ridden.

No person shall use, operate or ride upon nor permit the use, operation or riding upon any skateboard on any public street, public alley, public sidewalk, public park, public parking lot or other public place within the Borough of Doylestown.

Any police officer who shall observe any minor person under the age of 18 years using, operating or riding upon a skateboard in violation of this Part shall have the authority to immediately seize and take possession of such skateboard and hold same until the parent or guardian of such minor person or other responsible adult shall make application to the Chief of Police of the Borough of Doylestown for the return thereof. Upon such application the Chief of Police shall release such skateboard to the parent, guardian or other responsible adult. The provisions of this section shall be in addition to and not in restriction of any penalties otherwise provided for the violation of this Part.
