Upon the granting of any license or permit by the City Council or by any board, agency, commission, department or officer of the City having the power to grant the same, the City Council or such board, agency, commission department or officer may impose, in addition to those imposed by the Charter, Code and ordinances of the City, such further limitations and conditions as the City Council or such board, agency, commission, department or officer may deem necessary for the preservation of order, peace and health, and the safety and welfare of the City, provided such additional limitations and conditions are not contrary to any provisions of the Charter, Code and ordinances of the City or the laws of New York State.
A. 
Such limitations and conditions shall include the right to require a bond indemnifying the City against all loss or damage which it may suffer or be caused by reason of any act committed or omitted, or other thing done as a result of the issuing of such permit or license.
B. 
All such bonds shall be approved by the board, agency, commission, department or officer requesting the same, as to amount and the sufficiency of the sureties.
The Clerk/Treasurer shall keep a copy of all licenses or permits granted by any officer, board, agency, commission or department of the City.
All applications for licenses and permits shall be presented to the Clerk/Treasurer unless otherwise provided in the Charter, Code or ordinance.
Every application shall be signed by the applicant and shall contain a statement of the facts hereinafter required for the various licenses and permits.
Except as herein otherwise provided, the Clerk/Treasurer shall, upon direction so to do by the City Manager, make out and deliver all licenses and permits upon the payment to him of the fee as provided for the various licenses and permits, and when the applicant shall have performed any other act or duty imposed upon him as a condition precedent to the granting of said license or permit by the City Council or by any provision of statute, or the City Charter, Code and ordinances of the City, and the provisions of all acts amendatory thereof, and supplementary thereto.
Every license so issued shall be dated and numbered, and shall also clearly state the object for which it is granted.
This chapter shall be applicable only to the businesses, trades and occupations regulated by Part II, General Legislation, of the Code of the City of Canandaigua.
