This part shall be known and may be cited as
the "Vehicles and Traffic Local Law of the Town of New Castle."

Within their context, words used herein shall have
the same meaning as defined by Article 1 of the Vehicle and Traffic
Law of the State of New York in force and effect from time to time.

TOWN OF NEW CASTLE
The following words and phrases, which are not defined
by Article 1 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York,
shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section
for purposes of the traffic legislation of this Town:
Includes the boundaries of a parking area whether marked
by a curbstone or other barrier or by a painted line of demarcation.
As used in this part are not true compass bearings. For simplicity
it is assumed that the lines of the New York Central Railroad run
approximately north and south.
Eastern standard time or Eastern daylight saving time, whichever
is in force and effect at the time.
The standing of a vehicle in a parking space serviced or
regulated by a parking meter.
Any individual who shall operate or drive a vehicle either
as owner thereof or as agent, employee or permittee of the owner thereof.
A collective term which, in its singular or plural form, shall mean all those parking spaces in the area hereinafter described in § 123-27 that shall, for the time being, be provided with parking meters.
That part of any area or street designated by this part or
any regulation adopted hereunder, as amended from time to time, as
a place for the standing of a vehicle.
Any individual, firm or corporation.
A person who lives in the Town of New Castle or who personally
owns real property assessed upon the last preceding assessment roll
of said Town.
A collective term which, in its singular or plural form, shall mean all those parking spaces and all that area lying within the area hereinafter described in § 123-27, exclusive of parking meter areas.
Streets, avenues, roads and highways within the Town of New
Castle.
That part of the Town of New Castle located outside the limits
of an incorporated village.
The provisions of this part with respect to
parking shall not apply to the agents or employees of public-service
corporations engaged in the erection of poles, the stringing of wires
or the repair, construction or inspection of lines, conduits or other
structures along or under any street, avenue, road or highway, nor
to persons lawfully engaged in construction, reconstruction or repair
of any street, avenue, road or highway.
