A. 
No trucks or vehicles in excess of five tons shall be operated along and over the following streets in the Town of New Castle, except for local domestic delivery and authorized maintenance and emergency vehicles:

No trucks in excess of 2.5 tons (5,000 pounds' gross weight), while fully loaded or unloaded, shall be operated along and over the following streets in the Town of New Castle, except for the delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along said roadway or use by Town vehicles and authorized maintenance and emergency vehicles:

Signs shall be posted at appropriate places on and along the roadways designated under this article stating, in substance, that trucks in excess of the stated weights are excluded therefrom.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a traffic infraction and shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $50 or by imprisonment for not more than five days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and shall, for a second conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
