The power granted to the Mayor of the Village of Irvington pursuant to § 209-m of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York relating to the requesting and granting of police assistance from and to other local governments is hereby delegated to the Chief of Police.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CHIEF OF POLICE
Includes any police officer in command of the Police Department of the Village of Irvington during the absence, illness or disability of the Chief of Police or who is authorized by the rules and regulations of the Police Department of the Village of Irvington to exercise the powers of the Chief of Police in emergency situations.
The Chief of Police, in his discretion, is authorized to assign an officer or officers of the Police Department to protect the transfer of bank deposits or payrolls of commercial establishments to or from any bank or between commercial establishments within the Village limits. For each such officer so assigned, a fee as set from time to time by the Board of Trustees shall be paid to the Village Clerk.
