The Chief Administrative Officer or his designee
is hereby authorized to prohibit vehicular traffic of more than 7,000
pounds' gross weight per axle from any portion of any road for any
period that he finds such traffic will cause substantial damage to
the surface of said road due to the natural conditions then existing.
Said prohibition shall be effective upon the posting of signs at each
of the portions of the road closed to such traffic. Municipal vehicles
and emergency vehicles are excluded from said prohibition. Fuel trucks
making necessary deliveries are also exempt from said prohibition.
Each operator of any vehicle exceeding a gross
weight of 7,000 pounds per axle guilty of violating said posted closure
shall be subject to a fine of $100 for each offense. Each occurrence
of entering upon a closed section of any Town road shall be deemed
a separate offense.

This article has been specifically designated for enforcement by citations issued by designated municipal officers or employees, and the citation hearing procedure established by Chapter 15, Citations, of this Code shall be followed.
