[Adopted 9-20-2005 by Ord. No. 1340-05]
If the Township has constructed a sump pump drain line in a right-of-way adjacent to the front, side or rear yard of a property, it shall be unlawful for any person or entity to discharge or to allow or cause to be discharged any sump pump discharge from that property into or onto any public or private property, except to the sump pump drain line. Discharge of any sump pump discharge to the sanitary sewer system is prohibited (in accordance with the terms of the Code of the Township of Hazlet). Discharge of sump pump discharge must be made through a drain line installed on the property at the property owner's expense into the sump pump drain line constructed by the Township. The connection to the sump pump drain line must be inspected by the Township Department of Public Works.
Any property owner, upon receipt of notice of violation of this article shall be required to connect the sump pump discharge on the property to the sump pump drain lines within 10 days of the receipt of said notice.
If the violation is not abated within said 10 days, the continuing violation of this article shall be subject to a maximum penalty set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III. Each and every violation of any provision of this article shall be considered a separate violation and shall subject the person so charged to the maximum penalty.
