The position of Foreman of Public Works is hereby
created.
The Foreman shall be appointed by the Mayor
with the advice and consent of the Council.
The position of Foreman shall be for a term
of one year, commencing on January 1 of each year. The initial appointment
shall be for the balance of the year in which the appointment is made.
The position of Foreman shall be a working position
as well as supervisory, and he/she shall be the immediate subordinate
of the Superintendent of Public Works and shall perform such duties
as are from time to time assigned to him/her by the Superintendent
of Public Works.
In selecting a suitable person for appointment,
the Mayor may select a person for appointment who is already a member
of the Department of Public Works or such other person as the Mayor
shall deem to be appropriate and suitable.
