As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
SECURITY GATE
Any sliding or rolling horizontal or vertical gate in front
of any structure to prevent unauthorized entrance.
No security gate shall be installed without prior approval as
to design by the Construction Code Official.
A permit shall be issued by the Construction Code Official upon approval of the design prior to installation of any security gate. A fee as set forth in Chapter
155, Fees, §
155-12, for the permit shall be paid upon the issuance of the permit for administration costs.
Security gates shall be constructed of metal and so finished
so as not to rust or stain either the building or the sidewalks.

Security gates shall be of an open grill design, except that
a solid panel shall be allowed from the bottom of the security gate
up to a maximum of 36 inches from the sidewalk.
Any person who violates any provision of this article, upon
conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $500
or by imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or both. A separate offense
shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation
occurs or continues.
