Editor's Note: This local law was approved
by the voters of the Town at the 11-8-1977 general election.
This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority
of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York
and shall be known as the "Games of Chance Law of the Town of Stillwater."
The words and terms used in this chapter shall
have the same meanings as such words and terms are used in Article
9-A of the General Municipal Law, unless otherwise provided herein
or the context requires a different meaning.
The chief law enforcement officer of the Town.
The Town of Stillwater.
A.Â
Games of chance may be conducted in the Town by an
authorized organization, after obtaining a license therefor, in accordance
with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A of
the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations of the New York
State Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
B.Â
The conduct of games of chance on Sundays is authorized,
except as otherwise provided in Article 9-A of the General Municipal
Law.
C.Â
In addition to the restrictions contained in § 189
of the General Municipal Law, the conduct of games of chance in the
Town shall be subject to the following restrictions: none.
This chapter shall take effect immediately upon
filing with the Secretary of State after approval thereof by the voters
of the Town voting thereon at the next succeeding biennial Town election
to be held on November 8, 1977.
