[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Indiana 4-7-1970 by Ord. No. 981 (Ch. I, Part 10, Secs. 191 to 195, of the 1971 Code of Ordinances). Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Indiana Free Library is hereby designated and authorized the library to act as the agent of the Borough of Indiana to provide public library service to the residents and taxpayers of the Borough of Indiana for and on behalf of the Council of the Borough of Indiana.
The Council of the Borough of Indiana will assist in the maintenance of the Indiana Free Library in accordance with the provisions of Section 401 of The Library Code, Act of June 14, 1961, P.L. 324.[1]

The Council of the Borough of Indiana will, in accordance with Section 411 of The Library Code,[1] appoint two persons to serve as its representatives on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Free Library, each representative to serve three years, the terms expiring in different years.

The Treasurer of the Board of Directors shall give bond to the Borough of Indiana with sufficient surety in accordance with the provisions of Section 412 of The Library Code.[1]

The Board of Directors of the Indiana Free Library shall prepare and present to the Council of the Borough of Indiana by November 1 of each year a budget for the following calendar year and such other reports as are required by Sections 413 and 414 of The Library Code[1] and shall provide library service as provided in Section 415 of The Library Code.[2]
