The stair trac was introduced to the county and implemented for the purpose of creating accessibility for the third floor of the York County Courthouse. This mechanism will also be used throughout the York County government facilities for emergency purposes.
In order to successfully implement this mechanism, the following guidelines must be followed:
A.
The stair trac is currently stored in the lounge on the third floor of the York County Courthouse. The Courthouse Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of this mechanism in the Courthouse.
B.
If accessibility is needed for any requests within the York County Courthouse, a call must be made to the Court Administrator by the elected official, department director, the individual requesting the use of the stair trac or legal counsel representing the individual.
C.
The Court Administrator will then provide the accessibility with the assistance of the Courthouse Maintenance Department.
D.
If another county facility wishes to use the stair trac, it must request the use of the mechanism 24 hours prior to the meeting, hearing or event from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator at the Human Resources office. Emergency situations will be adhered to immediately.[1]

F.
If additional employees need to be trained to operate the stair trac, they will either be trained by a representative of the stair trac or by another designated person.[2]
