A.Â
There shall be an Office of the Township Attorney.
B.Â
There shall be a Township Attorney appointed by the Township Council
for the term of one year commencing on January 1 of the year of their
appointment and continuing until their successor is appointed.
C.Â
The Township Attorney shall receive such compensation, fees and costs as provided in Chapter 93, Salaries and Compensation, of this Code, and as may be necessary and required in accordance with their professional services contract.
D.Â
There shall be a First Assistant Township Attorney and Prosecutor(s).
E.Â
The Assistant Township Attorney and the Prosecutor(s) shall be appointed
by the Township Council for the term of one year commencing on January
1 of the year of their appointments and continuing until their respective
successors are appointed.
F.Â
The Assistant Township Attorney shall receive such annual compensation as shall be provided in Chapter 93, Salaries and Compensation, of this Code, and deemed reasonable by the Township Council.
G.Â
The Prosecutor(s) shall receive such compensation as deemed reasonable
by the Township Council and as may be necessary and required in accordance
with the Prosecutor's professional services contract.
The Township Attorney shall:

The First Assistant Township Attorney shall make appearances
at meetings of Township Council when necessary to advise the Township
Council of the status of any matters the First Assistant Township
Attorney is responsible for pursuant to these duties.
The Township Attorney shall have the power, with the approval
of the Mayor and Council and within the limits of available appropriations,
to engage such additional or specialized counsel to aid in the performance
and functions of the Office.
