[Adopted by Ord. No. 1308 as Ch. 2.52 of the 1998 Code]
There shall be a Department of Public Works, the head of which shall be the Superintendent of Public Works.
The Superintendent of Public Works shall be appointed by the Administrator, subject to approval of the Committee, for a term of one year ending on December 31 in each year. Under the direction and supervision of the Administrator, he shall be responsible for the proper and efficient conduct of all public works functions of the Township government and shall supervise and direct the work of the Department. He shall:
A. 
Maintain, repair, construct and reconstruct public roads and streets of the Township.
B. 
Maintain, repair and provide public works services to the playgrounds of the Township and trim, plant and care for shade trees, public parks and greens.
C. 
Maintain Township streets and roads in a clean and safe condition for passage, free of obstructions and hazards, and remove snow and ice therefrom as required.
D. 
Provide technical and mechanical services required by any department or contracting governmental agency of the Township, subject to the direction of the Administrator.
E. 
Operate, maintain and repair public parking areas and facilities.
F. 
Provide for the care, storage, use and disposition of motor vehicles and motorized equipment of the Township, except as the Administrator shall otherwise direct.
G. 
Supervise the operations of the Township stormwater drainage system.
H. 
Maintain and repair Township buildings and properties.
