As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTORIZED BICYCLE
A pedal bicycle having a helper motor characterized in that either the maximum piston displacement is less than 50 cubic centimeters or said motor is rated at no more than 1.5 brake horsepower and said bicycle is capable of a maximum speed of no more than 25 miles per hour on a flat surface.
No person shall operate, permit or cause to be operated a motorized bicycle on any public lands within the Borough of South Plainfield, including but without limitation public parks, recreational areas, Board of Education properties or other publicly held or owned properties.
The provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-14.3 et seq. are hereby expressly incorporated by reference.
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination thereof
