The Common Council shall have the power and authority to prohibit, restrict or otherwise regulate the parking of automobiles and other motor vehicles and to designate one-way traffic regulations upon any of the public streets, highways or public place within the City of North Tonawanda, New York.
Such prohibition, restriction or regulation shall be established and decreed by a resolution of the Common Council, which such resolution shall have the same force and effect as though such resolution were enacted or adopted in the same manner as that procedure required for the enactment and adoption of ordinances of the City of North Tonawanda.
A. 
The Police Department is hereby authorized to post proper and suitable signs indicating any restrictions on parking or other restrictions on any such public street, highway or public place as may be directed by such resolution of the Common Council.
B. 
No person shall disobey a posted traffic control device restricting motor vehicle or motorcycle operation on any public highway in the City of North Tonawanda, New York.

All resolutions heretofore enacted and adopted by the Common Council prohibiting, restricting or otherwise regulating parking or designation of one-way traffic on any street, highway or public place in the City of North Tonawanda are hereby ratified and confirmed as a part of this ordinance and shall have the same force and effect as any such resolutions adopted and enacted pursuant to this ordinance.

Any person violating this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding $200 or imprisonment for not exceeding 30 days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
