All new structures constructed in the Village of Monticello
after the enactment of this article, to be connected to the Village
water system, shall have outside water meter registers of the type
supplied by the Village of Monticello, and no building permit shall
be issued unless the installation of such a water meter register is
called for in the plans submitted therefor.
All water-metered accounts shall have their water meters made
easily accessible for reading, repairs or installation, removal and/or
inspection. Water Department personnel shall have the right to inspect
meters at any time.
A.
The installation, care, repair, maintenance and replacement of private
water hydrant systems, including the hydrants, laterals, fittings,
pits, meter registers, etc., shall be the sole responsibility of the
owner thereof and at the owner's sole cost and expense, without
any participation or contribution of the Village.
B.
Definition. A "private fire hydrant system" shall be any system of
fire hydrants, laterals and the appurtenances thereof connected to
the water supply system of the Village of Monticello, New York, whether
such fire system is owned privately or by some other unit of government,
including the State of New York.
D.
Maintenance of private hydrant system. Every person, firm or corporation
who owns any premises in said Village upon, in or under which a private
fire hydrant system has been installed shall keep and maintain said
system in good operating condition.
All meters over one inch in size are not supplied by the Village
of Monticello Water Department. These meters are privately owned.
