It shall be unlawful for any person to consume any alcoholic beverage, or to have in his or her possession any open container thereof, in any public park or beach, excluding municipal campgrounds, at any time, except at functions duly authorized by the Town Council of the Town of Portsmouth.
It shall be unlawful for any person to consume any alcoholic beverage, or to have in his or her possession any open container thereof, upon any public street or sidewalk at any time.[1]

Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall be fined not exceeding $100 for the use of the Town or imprisoned for a term not exceeding 30 days.
