[Adopted 6-5-1974 as § 7-10 and Ch. 13, Art. I of the 1974 Code]
Every person desiring to name a road or street must consult with the Board of Selectmen to ascertain if the proposed name is acceptable to it before said name is filed for any land deeds or printed on any street sign.
No person shall place any lumber, building material, boxes, crates, barrels or any other material whatsoever on any sidewalk so as to obstruct the free passage on such sidewalk.
No person shall drive, wheel or draw any vehicle, except children's hand carriages, or permit any horse under his care to go or stand upon any footpath or sidewalk in the Town, except going in and out of driveways.
[Amended 6-26-2002]
No person shall place or construct any fence, wall, stone, step, building or other structure or plant any tree, shrub, or other vegetation in the Town right-of-way or, in general, in such a way as to encroach upon any street or sidewalk in the Town.
[Added 11-17-2004]
The Board of Selectmen delegate authority to the Director of Public Services to issue permits and to collect and release performance bonds as described in Article II, Excavations, and Articles III, IV and V, regarding sidewalks, of this chapter.
[Added 11-17-2001]
When deposits or performance bonds are established, the depositor agrees that the funds revert to the Town two years after the funds are established if the depositor cannot be located or if the underlying project is inactive. Town ownership of funds precludes the escheatment of such funds to the state.
