Borough of Lehighton, PA Article III Junior Firefighter and Firefighter Cadet Fundraising Activities

§ 11-20 Participation in fundraising authorized.

Those individuals who are either Junior Firefighters or Firefighter Cadets of the Lehighton Fire Department, pursuant to the various applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including but not limited to the Child Labor Law[1] and the Public School Code,[2] and the prevailing standard operating guidelines of the Lehighton Fire Department, are hereby authorized by the Borough of Lehighton to participate in and engage in appropriate fundraising activities on behalf of the Lehighton Fire Department under the supervision of, and to the extent permitted by, the Lehighton Fire Chief or his or her designee.

§ 11-21 Workers' compensation.

The appropriate officials of the Borough of Lehighton shall take any and all appropriate and necessary steps to ensure that Junior Firefighters and Firefighter Cadets shall be covered by Workers Compensation while engaged in appropriate fundraising activities on behalf of the Lehighton Fire Department.
