[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council
of the Borough of Lehighton as Ch. 45 of the 1975 Code. Amendments

It is the desire and intention of the municipal
authorities of the Borough of Lehighton to organize an authority under
the Municipal Authorities Act of 1935, approved June 28, 1935, P.L.
463, its amendments and supplements,[1] for the purpose of acquiring, owning and operating or
leasing waterworks, water supply works and a water distribution system
and for such other projects as may, from time to time, be specified
by the Borough of Lehighton.

The name of the proposed authority is the "Lehighton
Water Authority."
The proposed Articles of Incorporation of said
Authority are as follows:
A.
The name of the Authority shall be the "Lehighton
Water Authority."
C.
No other authority organized under the Municipality
Authorities Act of 1935, approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, and its
amendments and supplements, or under the Act approved December 27,
1933 (Special Session of 1933 P.L. 114),[2] is in existence in or for the Borough of Lehighton.

F.
The said Authority shall have existence for the term
of 50 years.
G.
The term of existence of the Lehighton Water Authority
is increased to a date 50 years from the date of approval of this
amendment.
