Borough of Dunellen, NJ Chapter 4 Assessor

§ 4-1 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

TAX ASSESSOR

The person charged with the duty of assessing property for taxation in the Borough.

§ 4-2 Appointment; terms of office; compensation.

There is hereby appointed by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Dunellen a Tax Assessor. Said Tax Assessor shall hold office for a term of four years from the first day of July next following his appointment. The Tax Assessor shall receive such salary and compensation as the Mayor and Council may, by ordinance, fix and determine.

§ 4-3 Duties.

The Tax Assessor shall perform such duties in relation to the assessment of taxes as are prescribed by law and the Mayor and Council may, by ordinance or resolution, require.
