Be it ordained by the Council of the Borough
of Glen Gardner, in the County of Hunterdon, that the right, privilege
and consent to erect poles and string wires thereon and to construct,
maintain and operate works for the supply and distribution of electricity
for electric lights, heat and power, and for the purpose to use the
public roads or highways, streets, avenues and alleys in the Borough
of Glen Gardner, is hereby granted to the Washington Electric Company,
its successors and assigns.

The said poles shall be used exclusively for electric
lighting, power and domestic purposes, except that the said Borough
of Glen Gardner shall have the right and privilege of placing fire
alarm and police wires of the borough upon said poles without charge
to the borough, which wires shall be under the control of the Council
of the Borough of Glen Gardner and shall be placed on said poles so
as not to interfere with public travel or the wires of the Washington
Electric Company.

The poles to be used by the said company shall be
of such height that the wires placed thereon shall not interfere with
the passage of vehicles or persons over and along said public streets
or highways.
The surface of the streets, highways and sidewalks
which shall be in any way used in the construction or maintaining
of the said electric light works or plant shall be restored to their
former condition, and no street or sidewalk or highway shall be encumbered
or obstructed for any longer period than shall be actually necessary
for said construction and maintenance.
