The location of the service connection shall be as designated by the Department, and the customer shall provide, free of expense to the Borough, a suitable place satisfactory to it for transformers, meters and other equipment of the Borough which may be necessary for the supply of electric service contracted for.
The customer's wiring shall be brought to the outside of the building at an approved location in such a manner that it will be easily accessible for attachment to the Borough's lines, and all construction and connections from that point of attachment buildingward shall be at the expense of the customer and shall include approved-type service entrance equipment, which may be sealed by the Department and shall be accessible only to its authorized representative.
The customer shall provide substantial supports for attaching the Borough's service wires to the building. Such supports shall be at a height such that there will be a minimum clearance of 15 feet between the Borough's wires and the ground, except in such instances where, at the discretion of the Light and Power Department, a lesser clearance shall be allowed.
With the exception of the metering equipment, the Borough's service equipment shall, in ordinary installations, terminate at the point where the service wires attach to the building. The customer shall pay for, install and maintain all inside work.
The number of services shall be in accordance with the National Electric Code.
The phase, voltage, size and type of all motors installed by a customer shall be subject to the approval of the Light and Power Department. A customer shall install motor-starting devices, automatic circuit breakers, switches, fuses or overload devices of a type approved by the Light and Power Department and shall adjust, renew or replace the same from time to time or on request of the Light and Power Department. Representatives of the Light and Power Department may establish requirements concerning the method of starting motors in order to keep excess current required for such starting as low as practicable without in any way rendering the Light and Power Department responsible for the control or operation of any such equipment.
A customer shall, if requested by the Light and Power Department, install reverse phase relays or equivalent devices in cases where phase reversals may cause injury or damages.
All emergency generators installed or used by any customer must comply in all respects with the provisions of Article 700 of the National Electric Code, entitled "Emergency Systems," and any and all amendments thereto.
