[Adopted 7-23-1971]
Pursuant to the provisions of the Borough Code, Section 1105,[1] as last amended, full-time appointees and full-time employees (excluding those presently covered by municipal pension, but including firemen who retired on or subsequent to March 1, 1971, without pension coverage) of not less than 65 years of age, upon cessation of service and while this Article remains in effect, shall be paid compensation not in excess of $25 per month, as may be determined from time to time by the Borough Council of Kingston, Pennsylvania, which payments shall be made out of the general borough fund; provided, however, that nothing herein shall preclude any appointee or employee from joining in any pension system or municipal retirement system that the borough may adopt.

The formula of payment adopted by the borough shall be as follows:
A. 
Ten-year man (minimum retirement age 65) at $2 per year: $20 per month.
B. 
Eleven-year man (minimum retirement age 65) at $2 per year: $22 per month.
C. 
Twelve-year man (minimum retirement age 65) $2 per year: $24 per month.
D. 
Thirteen-year man (minimum retirement age 65), maximum: $25 per month.
