As used in this Article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
A person employed by a municipality on a full-time basis
averaging at least 35 hours per week paid by an hourly wage, daily
wage or a weekly, monthly or annual salary. The term "employee" shall
not include any person employed by a municipality as a full-time policeman,
policewoman or paid fireman.
A full-time, nonelective officer, excluding full-time police
and firemen.
From and after March 1, 1971, inclusive, all
full-time members of the Borough Fire Departments are and the same
shall be, upon reaching or having reached the age of 65 years, automatically
retired and removed from the borough employment rolls.[1]
