[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Kingston (now Town Council of the Municipality of Kingston) 12-14-1970; amended in its entirety 2-11-1985; 10-16-2017 by Ord. No. 2017-6. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
A weapon shall be defined as any type of firearm (including a handgun, rifle, semiautomatic firing rifle, automatic firing rifle, BB gun, pellet gun or like devices), bow and arrow, cross bows, pipe cannons used to project objects at high speeds utilizing pneumatic pressure (air pressure) or flammable gas (aerosol, propane, etc.) and other such items capable of inflicting bodily harm.
No person other than a duly appointed police officer or law enforcement official shall fire or discharge weapons within the Municipality of Kingston except to protect life or property or as otherwise allowed by and in compliance with federal or state law.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not less than $300 and costs of such proceedings or, upon default of payment of such fine and costs, by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days.
