The Municipality of Kingston Police Department and its individual police officers who are duly trained and certified in the use thereof are hereby authorized to use all speed-timing devices for the determination of speed of a motor vehicle as are approved by the Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368.
This chapter authorizes the use of said devices upon all public roadways, highways and streets situate within the Municipality of Kingston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, whether municipal, county or state; and further, this chapter authorizes the exercise of all powers granted to local authorities under the Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6101 et seq., as presently in effect or as may hereafter be amended, supplemented, modified or reenacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
All speed-timing devices authorized to be used by the Municipality of Kingston Police Department and its individual police officers pursuant to the terms and provisions of this chapter shall be of the type approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and tested for accuracy as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the provisions of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.
