This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority
of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
The words and terms used in this chapter shall
have the meanings set forth in Article 9-A of the General Municipal
Law.
A.
Games of chance may be conducted in the Town by an
authorized organization after a license is obtained therefor, in accordance
with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A of
the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations of the New York
State Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
B.
The conduct of games of chance on Sunday is only permitted
when it is specifically provided for in the license issued. No games
of chance, however, shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas
Day or New Year's Eve.
The Town Clerk is hereby delegated the authority
granted to the Town Board by Article 9-A of the General Municipal
Law in relation to administrative and clerical functions, and the
Sheriff of Broome County is hereby delegated the enforcement and investigative
functions.
