Effective April 1, 1991, the Village of LeRoy
will enter into a program of recyclable material pickup. In order
for recyclables to be picked up within the Village, such materials
must be placed in officially designated boxes, separated into a newspaper,
glass bottles, mixed metals or plastic section.

All persons must source separate all recyclable materials.
Recyclable materials will be collected on a
weekly basis by a contractor.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
Newspapers: bagged or tied dry newspapers, magazines
and paper other than newsprint.

Glass bottles: whole bottles and jars, color
mixed and free from cookware, plate glass, safety glass and nonglass
materials. Labels are acceptable.
Mixed metals: aluminum and bi-metal (steel and
aluminum) beverage cans and tin-steel food cans. Tin-steel cans must
have organics removed.
Plastics: Number 1 and Number 2 plastic and
plastic containers.
Yard waste: leaves in brown paper bags if not during leaf season,
brush under three inches in diameter and cut in five-foot lengths.

Corrugated cardboard: flattened, tied and placed at the curb.

change. Check with Village for a complete listing.

Recyclable materials to be collected shall be
placed at the curb ready for collection by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled
day of collection. In no event shall said recyclable materials be
placed ready for collection prior to 6:00 p.m. the evening before
a regularly scheduled collection day.
Any person violating this article shall be guilty
of an offense and punishable by a fine not less than $25 and not exceeding
$100 for each twenty-hour-hour period violation.
This article shall take effect April 1, 1991.
