[Adopted 9-1-1981 by L.L. No. 1-1981]
The Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Olive shall have a term of office of four years commencing the January 1, 1982, term.
This article shall supersede in its application to the Town of Olive § 24 of the Town Law of the State of New York in so far as § 24 of the Town Law mandates a term of office for the Town Superintendent of Highways of two years.
This article shall be subject to a mandatory referendum in accordance with § 23 of the Municipal Home Rule of the State of New York and shall be filed with the Secretary of State of New York in accordance with § 27 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York, if approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified electors of the Town of Olive after submission for approval of the Electors at the General Election to be held November 3, 1981, within five days after said approval and take effect and become operable upon said filing.[1]
