[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterloo 5-14-1984 by L.L. No. 1-1984 as Ch. 65, Art. V, of the 1984 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall willfully give or cause to be given any false alarm of fire in this Village.
No member of the Fire Department or other person shall be insubordinate or disorderly at any fire or obstruct the operations of the Fire Department or willfully neglect or refuse to obey or attempt to prevent or obstruct the execution of the orders of the officers of the Fire Department.
No person shall injure or interfere in any way with any hose or other apparatus belonging to the Fire Department of the Village of Waterloo, nor shall any person injure any building or part thereof where such apparatus is kept.
No person shall place any lumber or stone or other obstruction nearer than six feet to any hydrant within the Village.
No person shall in any way interfere with the Fire Chief in the placing of fire lines or any proper measure he or she may desire to carry out for the purpose of controlling a fire, and the Fire Chief is hereby empowered to call the Village Police if necessary to aid the Fire Department in extinguishing the fire and protecting property at any fire.
Pursuant to Subdivision 1 of § 405.00 of the Penal Law of the State of New York, the Mayor is hereby designated the permit authority to grant and issue permits for the public display of fireworks in accordance with the provisions of § 405.00 of the Penal Law.

No person, firm or corporation, except a municipal corporation, shall make or cause to be made within the corporate limits of the Village of Waterloo, New York, any bonfire or shall burn any substance inside the confines of an exterior stove, furnace or boiler used or designed for heating or for cooking purposes, unless the same is permitted by resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterloo.

The construction and operation of outdoor woodburning furnaces are hereby prohibited within the Village of Waterloo. An "outdoor woodburning furnace" is defined as an accessory structure, designed and intended, through the burning of wood or other solid fuel, for the purpose of heating the principal structure or any other site, building or structure on the premises.

Any violation of any provision of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-6.
