Town of Williamson, NY Article I Adoption of 1966 Code

[Adopted 12-13-1966]

§ 1-1 Purpose.

It is hereby declared that the adoption of this ordinance has for its purposes the repeal of all ordinances that are no longer applicable because of enactment of state statutes, and the compilation by chapter and article of all remaining ordinances of the Town of Williamson, without any change of text, into a single collection of laws to be known as the "Code of the Town of Williamson, New York."

§ 1-2 Repeal.

The following ordinances of the Town of Williamson, New York, and all ordinances amendatory thereof are hereby repealed:

A. An ordinance relating to fireworks adopted May 8, 1930.

B. An ordinance relating to bicycles adopted September 29, 1930.

C. Two ordinances relating to milk adopted March 14, 1923 and March 1, 1935.

D. Several vehicle and traffic ordinances relating to parking, turning and posting of signs adopted February 15, 1932; June 14, 1932; January 6, 1933; May 1, 1933; September 5, 1933; May 2, 1934; April 2, 1935; August 14, 1940.

E. An ordinance relating to operation of motion picture theaters adopted July 30, 1941.

§ 1-3 Chapter and article numbers assigned.

The following ordinances and regulations, without any change in text, are hereby designated by chapter and article number of the Code of the Town of Williamson, New York, as hereinafter indicated:

§ 1-4 Town Clerk to maintain office copy.

A certified copy of such Code shall be kept on file with the Town Clerk. It shall be the express duty of the Town Clerk, or someone authorized by him, to insert in their designated places all amendments or laws which indicate the intention of the Town Board to make the same a part of such Code when the same have been printed or reprinted in page form, and to extract from such Code all provisions which may be from time to time repealed by the Town Board. This copy of such Code shall be available for all persons desiring to examine the same and shall be considered the official "Code of the Town of Williamson."

§ 1-5 Effective date.

This ordinance will take effect and be in force immediately after its passage, publication and posting as provided by law.
