A.Â
The end of the public sanitary lateral sewer must
be uncovered and inspected before building sewer construction begins.
The location of the lateral may be obtained from the sewer plans on
file in the office of the Enforcement Officer. If a lateral sewer
does not exist, the Town will construct the lateral sewer from the
public sewer main to the property line or easement line. In no case
will the owner be permitted to tap into the public sewer main.
B.Â
Existing building sewers may be used in connection
with new buildings only when they are found, on examination and test
by the Enforcement Officer, to meet all requirements of this Part
1.
A.Â
The connection of the building sewer into an existing
public sewer shall be made from the wye installed by the sewer district.
If no wye has been installed, the district will install one in the
public sewer main at a point as close to the property line or the
easement line as possible. The property owner will grant any easements
necessary in connection with the installation of the wye. The owner
shall indemnify the district from any loss or damage that may directly
or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer.
The method of connection of the building sewer to the public sewer
will be dependent upon the type of pipe material used and in all cases
shall be approved by the Enforcement Officer.
[Amended 10-12-1982 by L.L. No. 1-1982]
B.Â
The owner shall be responsible for construction of
the building sewer, connection to the public lateral sewer and maintenance
of the building sewer once it is approved for operation.
