The words and phrases used in this article shall for the purpose of this article have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by Article 10 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
Every person shall obey the instructions of any official traffic control device applicable thereto placed in accordance with the provisions of this article in the manner prescribed by, and subject to the exceptions specified in, the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
The Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Williamson shall install and maintain traffic control devices when and as required under the provision of this article to make effective the provisions of said ordinance and may install and maintain such additional traffic control devices as he may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide traffic under the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York subject to the provisions of §§ 1682 and 1684 of that law.
A. 
Through highways.
(1) 
Maple Avenue is hereby designated as a through highway from East Main Street to Miller Street; and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Prospect Street from the west.
(2) 
Miller Street is hereby designated as a through highway from Maple Avenue to Locust Street and Congdon Road, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Highland Avenue from the south.
(3) 
Locust Street is hereby designated as a through highway from East Main Street to Congdon Road and Miller Street, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Miller Street from the west.
(b) 
Sherman Avenue from the east.
(4) 
Congdon Road is hereby designated as a through highway from Miller Street and Locust Street to the East Town Line Road, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Willow Avenue from the north.
(b) 
Russell Road from the south.
(5) 
Bear Swamp Road is hereby designated as a through highway from the intersection of Pound Road to the Lake Road, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Jersey Road from the west.
(b) 
Brasser Road from the east.
(c) 
New Road from the west.
(6) 
Salmon Creek Road is hereby designated as a through highway from Lake Avenue west and south to the Kenyon Road.

Stop signs shall be erected at the following entrances thereto:

(7) 
The east half of the Fisher Road south from the Lake Road to the West Ridge Road is hereby designated as a through highway, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:

Shepherd Road from east.
(b) 
Seeley Road from east.
(c) 
Kenyon Road from east.
(8) 
The east half of the Arbor Road south from the West Ridge Road to the Marion Town line is hereby designated as a through highway, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Arbor Road Extension from the east.
(9) 
Tuckahoe Road from Salmon Creek south to Woods Road is hereby designated as a through highways and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Church Road from east.
(10) 
Eddy Ridge Road from West Ridge Road south to Marion Town line is hereby designated as a through highway, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Eddy Road from east and west.
(11) 
Pease Road from West Ridge Road south to Marion Town line and is hereby designated as a through highway, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Beach Road from east.
(12) 
Bennett Street is hereby designated as a through highway from West Main Street (Ridge Road), Hamlet of Williamson, north to its terminus, and stop signs shall be erected at the following entrances thereto:

Stanford Street from the east.

Wayne Street from the east.
(13) 
Pearsall Road from Route 21 (Palmyra-Marion Road) to Russell Road is hereby designated as a through highway, and stop signs shall be erected on the following entrances thereto:
(a) 
Franklin Road from south.
(14) 
Pound Road is hereby designated as a through highway from Lake Avenue to U.S. Route 104, and stop signs shall be erected at the following entrances thereto:

Old Ridge Road is hereby designated as a through highway between its two entrances into East Ridge Road, and a stop sign shall be erected at the following entrance thereto:

Russell Road is hereby designated as a through highway between the Williamson-Marion Town line and Congdon Road.

Wayne Street is hereby designated as a through highway, and a stop sign shall be erected at the following entrance thereto:

Vick Street from the south.
(18) 
Stanford Street is hereby designated as a through highway, and a stop sign shall be erected at the following entrance thereto:
(a) 
Vick Street from the north.
(19) 
Ridgeway Street is hereby designated as a through highway from Lake Avenue (Route 21) to Cole Street, and a stop sign shall be erected at the following entrance thereto:
(a) 
Cole Street from the south; and a stop sign shall be erected where Ridgeway Street enters Cole Street from the west.
A. 
Authority to impound vehicles.
(1) 
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway within this Town, during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned, said vehicle may be removed or ordered removed by the Town Superintendent of Highways or by any peace officer.
(2) 
When any vehicle is found unattended on any highway within this Town, where said vehicle constitutes an obstruction to traffic said vehicles may be removed or ordered removed by the Town Superintendent of Highways or by any peace officer.
B. 
Storage and charges. After removal of any vehicle as provided in this section, the Town Superintendent of Highways, or any peace officer, may store or order stored such vehicle in a suitable place at the expense of the owner, Such owner or person in charge of the vehicle may redeem the same upon payment of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal.
A. 
This article shall take effect from and after the 10th day of August 1959, except those parts, if any which are subject to the approval under § 1684 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and § 46 of the Highway Law of the State of New York.
B. 
Any part or parts of this article which are subject to approval under § 1684 of the Vehicle add Traffic Law and § 46 of the Highway Law of the State of New York shall take effect from and after the day on which approval in writing is received from both the New York State Traffic Commission and the New York State Department of Public Works.
