GENERAL REFERENCES

Every person, firm, corporation and association or combinations thereof engaged in the transportation and/or dissemination of natural gas and/or manufactured gas or any of those named parties receiving natural gas or manufactured gas shall use exclusively that type of pipe and appurtenances thereto as approved by the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Office of Pipeline Safety, and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for the transportation and/or dissemination of natural gas and/or manufactured gas and/or of the receiving of natural gas or manufactured gas within the limits of the Borough of Honesdale. All of the parties above enumerated are hereby prohibited from using all other types of pipe for the purposes described herein.
Every person, firm, corporation and association or combinations thereof engaged in the transportation and/or dissemination of natural gas and/or manufactured gas or any of those named parties receiving natural gas or manufactured gas shall, at the point of connection of the pipeline of the transporter and/or disseminator of natural gas and/or manufactured gas with the pipeline of the receiver of the natural gas or manufactured gas, provide a mechanism for shutting off and terminating the supply of natural gas and/or manufactured gas from the former pipeline to the pipeline of the latter. All such mechanisms shall be required to be placed at said point of connection on all installations or renewals of installations of such services by the former to the latter after the date of this chapter.
Any person, firm, corporation or association or combinations thereof who shall violate the terms of this chapter shall, upon conviction before any District Justice, be fined not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution; provided, further, that each week's continued violation of this chapter shall constitute a single and separate offense. In default of the payment of said fine and costs of prosecution, it shall be the duty of the District Justice to commit every such person having been convicted as aforesaid to the county jail of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, to be imprisoned therein until such fine and costs of prosecution have been paid, not exceeding, however, a period of 30 days for each single and separate offense.
