This chapter shall be known as the "Lancaster Township Park Safety Ordinance."
This chapter shall regulate the activities of persons in any park owned and/or maintained by Lancaster Township (hereinafter, "park" or "parks").
All parks shall be open from sunrise to sunset.
A. 
The possession or use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs within any park is prohibited.
B. 
No person shall be intoxicated, under the influence of illegal drugs, gamble or use threatening, abusive, insulting or indecent language, fight or commit disorderly or immoral conduct of any kind within any park.
Dumping of rubbish, trash and littering of any kind within any park is prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for anyone to deface, mutilate, mistreat, abuse, destroy, mark, write or paint upon any park property whether natural or man-made.
Use or operation of motor-operated vehicles in any park is prohibited except in designated parking areas during the hours any park is open as stated in this chapter under § 192-3. ATV's, snowmobiles and recreation vehicles are prohibited anywhere in any park, including parking lots.
Pets permitted in the park must be leashed and under the control of the owner at all times. Pet waste must be cleaned up and disposed of properly by the owner.
Only fires in grills are permitted. All other fires of any kind, including but not limited to bonfires or camp fires, are prohibited.
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before a District Justice, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 and/or undergo imprisonment for a period of not more than 30 days. All prosecutions shall be brought in the name of the Township of Lancaster and all fines shall be paid to the Township of Lancaster.
