A.
Wherever a space is marked off on any street for the parking of an
individual vehicle, every vehicle parked there shall be parked wholly
within the lines bounding that space, and it shall be a violation
of this article for any person to park a vehicle or allow it to remain
parked otherwise.
B.
No person shall park a vehicle more than 12 inches away from the
curb or side of the paved roadway.
No vehicle shall be allowed to remain parked on any Township
highway for a period longer than 48 hours.
No truck-tractor, semitrailer, bus, truck or van having more
than four wheels, motor carrier vehicle, mobile home, house trailer,
tractor-trailer or trailer designed or used to haul motorized recreational
equipment such as a boat, motorcycle, snowmobile or jet ski, or any
other vehicle having an actual or registered gross weight in excess
of 9,500 pounds may be parked on any road, street, highway or right-of-way
owned or maintained by the Township of Lancaster or the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania within any residentially zoned district within Lancaster
Township. The definitions of those vehicles listed in this section
which are defined in the Vehicle Code, Act of June 17, 1976, P.L.
162, No. 81, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq., shall apply. The
districts which are residentially zoned within Lancaster Township
are R-1, R-2 and R-3. For the purpose of this section, in the event
a street is bounded on one side by a residential district and on the
other by a nonresidential district, the provisions of this section
shall be appropriate and apply to that street even though the boundary
line of the district is situated in the middle of the street or on
the residentially zoned side. Further, for the purpose of this section,
the term "registered gross weight" shall mean that weight shown or
reflected on a certificate and attestation relative to weight issued
by the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Motor Vehicles and
Licensing.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the following streets
or parts thereof, except at the angle designated and only within the
painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle
parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked
thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.

A.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of this
article shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine as established
by ordinance by the Lancaster Township Board of Supervisors and known
as the "Schedule of Fees," together with costs of prosecution.[1] Such fines and costs shall be collected in a manner provided
by law for the recovery of fines and penalties for the violation of
Township ordinances; and in default of payment thereof, the violator
shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 10 days.

B.
No person shall park a vehicle on the left-hand side of any two-way
street at any time which would result in the vehicle facing in the
wrong direction against oncoming traffic.
C.
No person shall park a vehicle in a posted bus stop zone at any time.
D.
No person shall park a vehicle closer than 20 feet from any intersection
of any road.
E.
No person shall park a vehicle closer than 15 feet from any fire
hydrant.
F.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the following

zone, so designated by signs, unless specifically performing the act
of loading or unloading for that specific location.
B.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle, or to allow
the same to remain parked, in any signed/marked handicapped parking
space or zone without displaying proof of his or her handicapped status,
such as state-issued license plate or tag.
No commercial repairing, washing, oiling or other work on vehicles
shall be performed at any time on public highways of the Township,
except in the case of emergency repairs. Likewise, no noncommercial
repairs shall be made to any vehicle on the public highways of the
Township of Lancaster, except in the case of emergency repairs. The
noncommercial washing, drying and waxing of a vehicle shall not be
considered a violation of this article.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of
this article shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine as
established by ordinance by the Lancaster Township Board of Supervisors
and known as the "Schedule of Fees," together with costs of prosecution.[1] Such fines and costs shall be collected in a manner provided
by law for the recovery of fines and penalties for the violation of
Township ordinances; and, in default of payment thereof, the violator
shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 10 days.

The owner of any vehicle, as determined from the vehicle registration
plate, vehicle identification number or any other reasonable means,
whether or not said owner was the operator of such vehicle, shall,
nevertheless, be responsible for and liable for any penalties imposed
or violations stated under any and all sections of this article. Such
responsibility shall not relieve the actual operator of such responsibility,
and all penalties may be assessed and collected from either.
A.
Whenever any vehicle is in violation of any section or provision
of this article and such vehicle is determined to be registered in
the name of and/or owned by a corporation, the President, Vice President,
Secretary or other responsible officer of such corporation, as well
as the operator thereof, shall be absolutely liable and responsible
for any penalties imposed for any violation thereof regardless of
whether or not such person was at the time the actual operator of
said vehicle.
B.
Where any vehicle is registered in the name of a partnership, any
partner shall similarly be responsible for any violations of this
article without regard to whether or not such partner was the actual
operator of the vehicle. Whenever a motor vehicle is registered jointly
in the names of two or more persons, any and all registered owners
of said vehicle shall be responsible for any violations of this article,
and any and all such registered owners may be owner or operator, if
the owner is not the operator, but duplicate parties may not be collected
or prosecuted therefor, and no more than one penalty or fine shall
be collected from any such owner for each violation.
