The Select Board is hereby authorized to adopt,
and from time to time amend, rules and regulations for the establishment
of standards for multi-channel voice, picture and/or data transmission
service providers and distributors, including but not limited to cable
television providers, in the Town of Ashland, to protect consumers,
to assure quality and continuity of service, and to provide an up-to-date
communications network in and for the town and its citizens. Such
rules and regulations may make provision for imposition, after public
hearing, of fines or penalties for violations thereof, not to exceed
three hundred dollars ($300.) for each day or part thereof during
which a violation occurs.
