Editor's Note: The recital to this ordinance reads as follows:
"The governing bodies of the City of Bordentown and the Township of Bordentown have decided that it is in the best interest of the respective municipalities and of their inhabitants to create a sewerage authority pursuant to the Sewerage Authorities Law of New Jersey, N.J.S.A. 40:14A-1 et seq. Permission for the creation of this Authority has been given by the Northern Burlington County Regional Sewerage Authority in Res. No. 1986-1, which was adopted on January 9, 1986."
The City of Bordentown does hereby create a Sewerage Authority with the Township of Bordentown pursuant to the provisions of the Sewerage Authorities Law of New Jersey, N.J.S.A. 40:14A-1 et seq. The Authority shall be a public body corporate and politic under the name and style of the "Bordentown Sewerage Authority."
The number of members of the Sewerage Authority to be appointed at anytime for full terms of office shall be six. The number of members of the Sewerage Authority to be appointed at anytime for full terms of office by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Bordentown shall be three.
Members of the Bordentown Sewerage Authority may receive compensation for their services as members of the Authority in a maximum amount of $500 per year.
The geographical area to be served by the Bordentown Sewerage Authority shall be the municipalities of the City of Bordentown and the Township of Bordentown.
The Bordentown Sewerage Authority shall constitute a sewerage authority contemplated and provided for in the Sewerage Authorities Law of New Jersey[1] and shall be an agency and instrumentality of the City of Bordentown and the Township of Bordentown.

The Bordentown Sewerage Authority shall have and exercise all of the powers and perform all of the duties provided by said Sewerage Authorities Law and any other statutes heretofore or hereafter enacted and applicable thereto.
