Editor's Note: This ordinance superseded former Art. VI, Municipal
Waste Collection Agreement, adopted 10-21-2009 by Ord. No. 6-2009.
The appropriate officers are hereby authorized and directed
to execute and deliver, and it is hereby ratified that a certain agreement
dated December 1, 2015, and the conditions of said Agreement are hereby
incorporated into this article. The duration of the term of the agreement
shall be a period of six years commencing January 1, 2016, and ending
December 31, 2021. The purpose and objections of the agreement are
for the removal, hauling and disposal of municipal waste and the carrying
out of the provisions of Act No. 101 adopted July 28, 1998, known
as the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act.[1] The manner and extent of financing is being set in the
terms of the agreement. The manner and terms of payment provides that
the Mon Valley Refuse Disposal Authority shall implement and carry
out this Agreement and the Mon Valley Refuse Disposal Authority is
hereby provided with the necessary powers to provide social security
for its employees.
