GENERAL REFERENCES
Brush, grass and weeds — See Ch. 147.
Parks and recreation — See Ch. 275.
Sewers — See Ch. 317.
Streets and sidewalks — See Ch. 340.
Any tree or part of a tree encroaching upon a public sewer or public right-of-way is deemed to be a nuisance.
The owner or owners of any property, or persons in control of said property, shall remove the tree or part of tree encroaching upon said public sewer or public right-of-way within five days after notice is given by the Health Officers.

Upon failure to remove any hereinabove described encroachment, the City of Monessen shall cause such removal and shall collect the costs thereof, with a penalty of 10% of the cost from the owner or owners or persons in control of said property by an action in assumpsit, or said costs and penalty may be entered as a lien against said property.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding before any District Justice having jurisdiction of such offense, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $300 or to undergo imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or both.
